Fostering.
One of the biggest gifts you can give to our dogs is a loving home and a warm bed. This provides security, structure, and socialization for them while they wait for forever homes. And we pay for food and medical expenses! Read the FAQ.
Thank you for wanting to volunteer for Labradors and Friends Dog Rescue! Volunteers are our greatest asset and we appreciate your wanting to donate your time to help our rescue dogs while they wait for their forever families! There are many ways to help: Fostering a dog in need, Fundraising, Transporting, Shelter Evaluations, Promotions, Media, Adoption Events, Home Visits and Administrative just to name a few! Please let us know what interests you! If you are interested in Fostering please fill out the Foster Section of the Application.

Our events need many types of volunteers: in addition to dog handling we need folks who can help people fill out adoption applications, answer questions about our adoptable dogs, keep the dogs hydrated, and more!
We always need dog walkers for our boarded dogs. You can go on a solo walk or as part of a pack walk! We also have volunteers who enjoy organizing hikes on the local trails if you're up for a longer adventure. Let's get outside!
We can always use help getting our rescue dogs to and from adoption events and vet appointments. But we also need volunteers to help move dogs from shelters to boarding or new foster homes.
We hold fundraisers year-round. These include events at local breweries and cideries, puppy yoga, selling handmade crafts and goodies, photos with Santa, Paint Your Pet classes, auctioning gift baskets, and more!
Helping our team with administrative tasks covers a lot of opportunities, from processing applications, handling meet and greets with potential families, designing and distributing flyers, and helping organize events…to name a few.
