Weekly Tail Wag #012 – Every Yes Changes a Life

Four puppies spreading joy. Two lives saved just in time. And volunteers who keep showing up.

This week’s Weekly Tail Wag celebrates the people who say YES when a dog needs help.

🐾 Puppy Kisses & Senior Smiles — Emma’s puppies visited a senior community in Orange County, bringing cuddles, laughter, and plenty of puppy love.

❤️ No Rest for the Rescue Crew — When Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde ran out of time at the shelter, Lorie and Jeff stepped up to give them a second chance.

🏡 From Dashie to Jamie — After a few bumps along the way, Dashie may have found his perfect match, thanks to the patience and dedication of foster dads Bill and Todd.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Amy — From dog walking to years of dedicated rescue work, Amy reminds us how one person’s commitment can change countless lives.

☔ Rain or Shine, Rescue Shows Up! — Our volunteers braved the weather for the San Diego Animal Support Foundation’s adoption event at Grossmont Center, where two adoption applications brought new hope.

💎 Shop for a Cause — Our Kendra Scott fundraiser is October 17–19, with 20% of qualifying purchases benefiting Labradors and Friends.

Every yes can become a rescue, a foster home, an adoption, or a lifetime of love.

❤️ Because friends don’t let friends go homeless.

Puppy Kisses & Senior Smiles: Emma’s Puppies Spread Joy in Orange County

Sometimes, the smallest paws bring the biggest smiles.

When a Facebook post appeared looking for rescue puppies to visit a pet-friendly senior care facility in Orange County, Labradors and Friends volunteer Jennifer knew just who could answer the call.

As foster mom to Emma and her four remaining adorable puppies, Jennifer knew they were ready to spread some love. She recruited fellow volunteer Carole, and together they made the special visit happen.

A Little Less Yoga, A Lot More Puppy Love

The event was called Puppy Yoga, but we’re not entirely sure how much actual yoga took place!

What we do know is there were plenty of puppy kisses, warm cuddles, wagging tails, and smiles.

Residents welcomed the puppies into their arms and onto their laps, sharing moments of laughter, affection, and simple happiness.

For Emma’s puppies, it was another opportunity to experience new people and surroundings. For the residents, it was a chance to enjoy the unconditional love that only a dog can give.

Rescue Is About More Than Saving Dogs

At Labradors and Friends, we see every day how rescue changes lives. But sometimes, the dogs we’re working so hard to save have a little magic of their own to share.

These four puppies may be small, but their visit was a beautiful reminder that kindness travels both ways.

A heartfelt thank-you to Jennifer and Carole for recognizing an opportunity to bring people and puppies together, and to the residents and staff who welcomed Emma’s little crew with open arms.

Sometimes, making a difference is as simple as showing up—with a few puppies by your side. ❤️
