Rain or Shine, Rescue Shows Up! ☔

A little rain wasn’t going to stop our Labradors and Friends crew!

Our volunteers braved the wet weather to participate in the annual adoption event hosted by the San Diego Animal Support Foundation at Grossmont Center.

Labradors and Friends has participated in these wonderful community events since the Foundation began hosting them, including its Valentine’s Day and holiday adoption celebrations.

    Wet Paws, Warm Hearts

Despite the gray skies, our volunteers traveled from Orange County with adoptable dogs, ready to introduce them to potential forever families.

There were wet paws, wagging tails, and plenty of smiles. And the best part? Two adoption applications! ❤️

Every application represents the possibility of a new beginning for a dog waiting for a family.

A Partnership That Makes a Difference

Events like these bring rescue organizations, animal lovers, and the community together for one shared purpose: helping homeless pets find loving homes.

We’re grateful to the San Diego Animal Support Foundation for continuing to create these opportunities year after year.

And to our incredible volunteers who loaded up the dogs, made the drive, and spent their day representing Labradors and Friends despite the rain—thank you for always showing up!

  • Puppy Kisses & Senior Smiles: Emma’s Puppies Spread Joy in Orange County

Puppy Kisses & Senior Smiles: Emma’s Puppies Spread Joy in Orange County

Sometimes, the smallest paws bring the biggest smiles.

When a Facebook post appeared looking for rescue puppies to visit a pet-friendly senior care facility in Orange County, Labradors and Friends volunteer Jennifer knew just who could answer the call.

As foster mom to Emma and her four remaining adorable puppies, Jennifer knew they were ready to spread some love. She recruited fellow volunteer Carole, and together they made the special visit happen.

A Little Less Yoga, A Lot More Puppy Love

The event was called Puppy Yoga, but we’re not entirely sure how much actual yoga took place!

What we do know is there were plenty of puppy kisses, warm cuddles, wagging tails, and smiles.

Residents welcomed the puppies into their arms and onto their laps, sharing moments of laughter, affection, and simple happiness.

For Emma’s puppies, it was another opportunity to experience new people and surroundings. For the residents, it was a chance to enjoy the unconditional love that only a dog can give.

Rescue Is About More Than Saving Dogs

At Labradors and Friends, we see every day how rescue changes lives. But sometimes, the dogs we’re working so hard to save have a little magic of their own to share.

These four puppies may be small, but their visit was a beautiful reminder that kindness travels both ways.

A heartfelt thank-you to Jennifer and Carole for recognizing an opportunity to bring people and puppies together, and to the residents and staff who welcomed Emma’s little crew with open arms.

Sometimes, making a difference is as simple as showing up—with a few puppies by your side. ❤️

Community, Puppies & Paws: LAF Joins Brea PD in Brea 🖤

There’s nothing better than getting out into the community with some four-legged friends! 🐾

Labradors and Friends was proud to join the Brea Police Department for a special community outreach event, giving some of our adoptable dogs the chance to meet new friends, soak up plenty of attention, and show everyone just how wonderful rescue dogs can be.

From playful puppies to our beautiful Kira, it was a day filled with wagging tails, new connections, and a whole lot of LAF love!

    The Puppies Were a Hit!

Emma’s puppies made their community debut — and, as you might imagine, they were quite the crowd-pleasers! After everything these little ones have been through, seeing them healthy, happy, and out meeting new friends was pretty special.

They spent the day getting plenty of attention, practicing their social skills, and showing off some serious puppy charm. By the end of the event, it was pretty clear that community outreach is exhausting work! Apparently, being this cute takes a lot out of you!

    ❤️ Kira’s Day Out!

Kira had her own chance to shine at our Brea community outreach event — and just look at that smile! ❤️

After waiting so long for a foster home, Kira is finally getting the opportunity to experience more of the world outside of boarding. Days like this give her the chance to meet new people, explore new places, and show everyone what a special girl she really is.

With those unforgettable eyes and that big happy smile, Kira certainly knows how to get your attention! Now she just needs the one thing we want for every LAF dog — a family to call her own.

Kira is still looking for her forever home. 🐾

    ❤️ Community Makes Rescue Possible

Events like this are about so much more than adoptions. They give our dogs a chance to get out into the community, meet new people, and experience new things — while giving us the opportunity to share what rescue is all about.

A huge thank you to the Brea Police Department for joining us and helping shine a little more light on rescue dogs still waiting for their families, and to PetSmart Brea for welcoming us and providing a place where our dogs could meet so many new friends.

And, of course, thank you to our amazing volunteers who gave their time to make sure our dogs could be there. From setting up and handling dogs to answering questions and sharing their stories, we couldn’t do any of this without you. ❤️🐾
